Author/photographer Peter J. Nebergall has placed the modern Punk phenomenon
in its proper historical perspective by conducting hundreds of interviews
and photo shoots with rebellious and disenchanted youngsters in both Great
Britain and the United States. His text and photographs provide a penetrating
glimpse into the philosophical musings and neotribal disfiguration fashion
trends of today's disenfranchised youth.
Nebergall and his camera went where many mainstream citizens are unable
to venture, and he returned with insightful commentary and artful photographs
that aptly chronicle Punk alienation. Tracing the history of the Punk revolution,
Nebergall discusses the history of modern youthful subcultures, explores
the roots of the Punk movement and its ethos, examines the motivations
of Punk “wanna-be's,” and compares the mores and attributes of Punks in
