GAUNTLET #10
Sexual Harassment: The New McCarthyism?
Edited by Barry Hoffman

The latest issue of Gauntlet revolves around “Myths of Sexual Harassment.” It's a visceral topic in which there is little room for moderation. Like abortion, all forms of alleged sexual harassment must be wiped out, some say, or, it's another form of lawyer-led government intrusion, which has stifled free expression in the workplace and academia. We're not talking about sex as an inducement for advancement. This issue focuses on the doctrine of the hostile environment, which has far greater First Amendment ramifications.

The cover story deals with suppression of a short story of child abuse that is loosely based on an incident within the Lubavitcher Movement (an orthodox Jewish sect). The story was met with hostility by the Lubavitchers, which led to threats and intimidation. Here is presented an investigative report and the short story for your consideration.

Other articles include: “Efforts to Combat Sexual Harassment on College Campuses Threaten Academic Freedom,” by Stephen F. Rohde, “The Power of Sexual Harassment,” by Kevin Fullin, M.D., “Shattering Some Myths About Sexual Harassment,” by Geov Parrish, “Tenured Professor Found Guilty of 'Sexual Harassment' for Asking Students to Define Pornography,” by Stephen F. Rohde, and much more.
